THIRD INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINAL LANGUAGES
28-29 April, 1998
Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics, Nijmegen, The Netherlands

Capitalising on the number of Australianists who will be in Europe during
April, the Language and Cognition Group of the Max Planck Institute for
Psycholinguistics has agreed to host the Third International Workshop on
Australian Aboriginal Languages. The two previous workshops were held at
the University of Melbourne.

The workshop will be held over two days (April 28-29, 1998).  The broad
theme of the workshop will be  "Event representation, verb semantics and/or
argument structure in Australian Aboriginal languages".  There will also be
a discussion group on the first morning which will examine patterns of
motion lexicalisation and motion description in Australian languages.

People who are currently intending to present are: Peter Austin, Nick
Evans, Bill McGregor, David Nash, Eva Schultze-Berndt, Jane Simpson, David
Wilkins and Stephen Wilson
